Repair prices need a diagnosis
A useful repair quote identifies the fault and separates diagnosis, the proposed part, labour, travel, taxes and any after-hours fee. A price advertised without examining the equipment may cover only the initial visit.
Ask whether the diagnostic charge is credited against the repair and how the provider handles additional work discovered during the appointment. Get authorization terms in writing.
Replacement is more than an appliance
Comparisons work best when every provider prices the same scope. Ask for exclusions and allowances to be identified, particularly where concealed conditions cannot be assessed until work begins.
- Equipment model, output and control features
- Venting, combustion air and condensate work where applicable
- Supply and return duct changes
- Fuel-supply or electrical work
- Removal, access, permits, commissioning and taxes
Keep rebates and financing separate
Start with the total installed price. Show a rebate separately until eligibility and program conditions are confirmed. If financing is offered, compare the total borrowing cost, payment schedule, fees and early-payment terms independently from the equipment decision. No financing offer or rebate approval is made by this website.
